Coaches

Private Lessons

The following coaches offer private lessons and can be contacted directly as noted. You will coordinate with the coach to set up a private lesson. Also, coaches set their own coaching rates and you will pay them directly. Additionally you will pay for ice time either directly to the ice rink or the sponsoring figure skating club.

Maria Susko-Dollard, Learn to Skate Director

Maria has been teaching skating for over 20 years and is a member of Ice Skating Institute (ISI), United States Figure Skating (USFS) and Professional Skaters Association (PSA). She has earned degrees in both Early Childhood Education from Hudson Valley Community College and Elementary Education from Russell Sage College. Formerly a rink director and special events manager at HVCC, she enjoys sharing her love of skating through teaching skaters of all ages and abilities.  Contact    [email protected]   if you are interested in working with Maria.

Lisa DiLillo

Lisa DiLillo has been a figure skating professional with over 30+ years of coaching experience. She is a previous member of Ice Skating Institute (ISI) and currently a member of USFS. Lisa enjoys working with skaters of all ages. She works with recreational and competitive skaters in group and private settings. In the past, she has judged in house basic skills competitions. Lisa is passionate about the sport of figure skating and feels as though she acts as a positive leader and role model for younger skaters. Contact  [email protected] if you are interested in working with Lisa.

Shea Foley

Shea began skating at 5, her coaching career as helper at 8, and became a gold medalist in Moves in the Field, at 14. She has coached Learn to Skate with Albany FSC for 10 years. Shea brings her detail oriented approach to developing skaters, ensuring a strong foundation upon which to build. Currently, Shea is advancing through ice dancing. Shea coached at rinks in the New York City area during college where she was a NCAA Division 1 athlete. Helen Gregorek

Helen started skating when she was eight years old and quickly fell in love with the sport. Helen competed individually throughout the east coast while also working on her Moves in Field tests throughout high school and college. She passed my Senior Moves in Field test the year after she graduated college and has continued to skate for herself whenever she gets the chance. Helen started teaching skating around the age of 15 and as helper at 8, and became a gold medalist in Moves in the Field, at 14. She has coached Learn to Skate with Albany FSC for 10 years. Shea brings her detail oriented approach to developing skaters, ensuring a strong foundation upon which to build. Currently, Shea is advancing throthe joy of skating with them. Besides teaching figure skating, Helen also is a Speech Language Pathologist at a nearby school district. She credited her love for working with children, starting when she began teaching skating years ago. Helen is so happy that she can continue to work with students on the ice again after the pandemic and will always feel at home at an ice rink.
