WHO CAN TAKE OUR SKATING LESSONS? 

Everyone!

Preschoolers, School age & Adults

New skaters

Recreational skaters

Hockey skaters

Beginner Figure Skaters

 

WHAT SPECIFIC KIND OF LESSONS DO WE OFFER?

  SNOWPLOW SAM 1-3 introduces skating to preschool age children (age 3-5)

  BASIC SKILLS 1-3 learn to skate for school age children (5 & up)

  ADULT 1-2 learn to skate or improve skating skills – for older teenagers and adults

  HOCKEY 1-4 for anyone who wants to learn to skate like a hockey player

  THE FINER EDGE for advanced Basic Skills 4-8 or Adult 3-4 skaters or ISI Delta to Freestyle levels

 

WHEN & WHERE WILL OUR SKATING LESSONS BE? 

· SUNDAYS 12:30-2:30 @ the Albany Academy Field House: 117 Hackett Blvd, Albany, NY

· FALL 2009 PROGRAM:  September 27 – December 20, 2009 (no skating October 25, November 8, December 13)

· WINTER 2010 PROGRAM:  January 3 – February 28, 2010 (no skating January 24)

· The Winter 2010 Program also includes participation in an ice show!!

 

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR SKATING LESSONS?

· You must bring your own skates (we do not have rentals to provide)

NO double runner blades!

· Wear warm layered clothing that is easy to move in

· Don’t forget your GLOVES!

· We recommend everyone wear helmets! (bicycle & hockey helmets acceptable)

· May also wear elbow & knee pads

 

WHAT DO I GET FOR MY REGISTRATION FEE?

   » 30 minute group lesson & 30 minute practice for school age and up

   » 30 minute group lesson only for preschool age skaters

   » Quality instruction by Albany Figure Skating Club coaches

   » Official U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Membership & Card

   » Record Book with stickers & general information about ice skating

   » General Sports Accident Insurance coverage » Official Basic Skills logo & year patches

   » USFS badges of levels passed
